Found a picture showing a screw over CAPACITY WELL
My carb is missing this screw
Could this affect the cold start ?
Any idea of the type of screw required
The capacity well affects middle to high speeds, I don't think it will have any appreciable effect on cold starting. I have a feeling that some versions of the 26VA used a cast-in orifice rather than a separate jet, probably a cost saving measure.
Cold start relies on a tight fit of the choke flap so that you get enough suction on the jets even with the feeble airflow at cranking speeds.

John is quite correct.
Have a look at your float chamber and your illustration. If a brass affair is screwed into hole 3 you probably have the right arrangement. If there is no brass insert but the hole has a visible thread the vital component is missing. If there is a hole with no thread (by design - a stripped thread is not good!) then you have the version with the cast in, pre set dimension, so also ok.
As John says, a missing brass thingummy will result in a flat spot in transition between jets 1 & 2.
