The Scottish Austin Seven Club’s National Rally at Guildtown in Perthshire
Friday 30th June – Monday 3rd July
This four day family-friendly event is open to anyone interested in pre-war Austin Sevens.
Camping is available on site with access to showers, toilets and washing up facilities from Midday on the Friday until midday on the Monday.
Our (very) social events begin on the Friday evening with a BYO barbecue in the Big Marquee – you provide the food and we will light up the big communal barbecue for you to cook it on. This welcome event allows people who may not have visited us before to meet everyone and immediately feel part of the group.
On the Saturday we provide a “suggested road route”, providing an oppotunity to explore the wonderful Perthshire scenery along with a lunch stop. You can head out alone or with a group, if you need a lift, that can normally be arranged too. The route is normally 45 to 60 miles long and entirely optional.
We light the barbecue again on the Saturday evening, so it can be used by anyone who wants it and then head over to the village hall for our world-famous Ceilidh. This is a superb way to let your hair down dancing or watching, as you wish – kilts are optional. We ensure a very Scottish welcome to you all by providing a totally free bar of local real ale, world wines and soft drinks. It’s very simple to use, you just help yourself! The night also includes the Annual Raffle, where everyone in attendance will usually win a prize and also has the opportunity to win a bottle of finest quality Malt for just £1!
On Sunday we set up the car display in the centre of the camping field. Breakfast rolls, soup and other food will be served from early on until just before prizegiving from James’ wonderful Streamliner catering van. From 1pm until 3pm we will be entertained by our resident Traditional Jazz band who will play from the big Marquee. Autojumble and regalia will be on sale all day and the Period Dress Competition will be judged by all attendees around 2pm. Cars are judged by entrants, you simply choose the three you like, in your class, and the one with most votes gets a tremendous trophy to keep for a whole year.
On the Sunday evening we light up the barbecue for the final time and host our survivor’s party. A very laid back affair which often includes live music and group singing from the remaining attendees.
On Monday we say our goodbyes before people head home, or set off on a Scottish adventure for a holiday of their own, clearing the site by midday.
We may be a long way for some to travel but we work hard to provide an event worth coming to. It is one that we find people return to again and again.
Hope to see you there, an entry form is attached.
