Further to my earlier reply suggesting the coil SW connection; I should have given more detail. I had rewired the car with armoured cable, the fault was a poor soldered connection on the eyelet SW lead. The SW coil nut was secure. "Fiddling" with the lead showed it was loose in the eyelet, but it couldn't be pulled clear.
