Yoke Greasing
#1
Sad
Hi, I have tried doing a search as to how to grease the yokes on the prop shaft uj.  I have  removed the shaft as I cannot seem to fit a grease gun between the yokes into the grease nipple. Is there a special adapter that is small enough to fit as I have 3 grease guns but are all too wide? at the nozzels.   This is Ruby 1938 Oct  MK2

I suppose it depends on whether your Hardy Spicer UJ's are relatively new replacements or pre-war originals. These 1.1/8" long extended nipples for the Hardy Spicer UJ's on the MG TC are 1/4" UNF thread to fit modern replacement H.S. Uj's - so check what thread yours are before spending your cash. Also check with all the A7 Cherished Suppliers as they may stock similar extended nipples for the UJ's.

Here's another for Morris Minor's though currently 'out of stock'

Here's another currently in stock - before buying any of these I've linked to, check that the thread on the extension will fit your UJ.

Many thanks Jeff I have ordered on of those extensions the problem is

I cannot seem to remove the small nipples they seem too big to pass out due to their base fouling on the yoke as I tried to undo.

It was as if the nipple was fitted then spider installed.  Looking at the prop it seems to be a later one maybe 20/30 years but guess the extensions would work well if I could get the old ones out then fit it. Smile
