Chummy petrol tank / bulkhead seal
#1
Hi is the meant to be a seal between the petrol tank and the bulkhead? I believe it is felt but not sure of the profile or size, any hints or suppliers would be great to know.

Thanks

The material is a kind of felt. It is continuous " ring " which slips over the tank. Dimensions are approx. 1" wide x 1/8" thick. I wouldn't call it a seal, more to prevent fretting between the tank and the bulkhead. When it came to refitting, it was a bit of a b****r. Patience needed to get it correctly placed.

Just the other day I purchased a roll of black felt strip with a self adhesive backing from our local Bunnings hardware.  I will use it to fit the sliding window channel in the motorhome but would be a simple install on the chummy tank. It's about 25mm wide so you may have to cut it down  cheers Russell

Thanks for the replies, having looked on google I guess the felt between chassis and bodywork would be a useful substitute.  50mm by 3mm so would need a trim.
