LWB Hardy Spicer propshaft length
#1
I need to get a propshaft made for a LWB Seven which has the usual four speed box etc. setup and a Hardy Spicer style prop. My problem is that the car isn't here right now, so I can't be sure of the overall length said prop needs to be;  I do have a couple of props here, but am sure they've been modded in the past.

It would be great if anyone who has a rolling chassis, or LWB car under construction could let me know what the distance is between the gearbox flange and rear axle flange.

It's about 29 1/2" Stuart.

I have two props here both from 1936 Rubys they measure 26 inches closed and 27 3/4 inches extended.

My memory is shot! Phil is quite correct - I just went out and lay under the Cabbie to check and it is 27 1/2" - sorry!

I now have grease all the way up my arm!!

Thanks very much for that useful information chaps. Ruairidh, if/when we meet, it seems like I might owe you a tin of Swarfega rather than a pint!
