Rear brake levers, up or down ?.
#1
Just want to check if the rear brake levers on a 1933 tourer should face up or down.
Mine face up, which might explain why the brakes come on when the car is loaded.
Easy fix provided I do not freeze to the garage floor while changing them !.

Martin.

Austin rear levers go down and back - nut should face rearwards.

Thanks Ruairidh.
Thought they were the wrong way round. Took pictures of them during
dismantling then I totally ignored them.
Did look on internet but did not find any 'good' pictures.

Nice job in forecast +3C temperatures. Really should get a heater for the garage.

Martin.

You may find the modern cap on your brake cable end fouls the axle tube, if so, fitting an original cap usually cures the problem.
