I think it also had a slipping clutch so it was probably the Constantly Variable Transmission type of automatic!

When rebuilding Josie I found 4 rubber wedges behind the door cards at the bottom of the doors.

I am sure Geoff Halstead won't mind me re-posting a picture he previously posted of the inside of an ARQ Ruby door.  There are two rubber/metal rollers (runners) that bear against either side of the glass to help locate it, the rollers are held in brackets by split pins.  After nearly 90 years you can see what state the rubber is likely to be in, assuming they are still there !
