Hi
If you mean the steering wheel control levers attached to the tubes that run down the centre of the steering column, then they are soft soldered. Mine were quite a tight fit and took solder very easily. Remember to wire wool the contact surfaces and use a good flux….cleanliness is vital. Cheers Howard

Hi Howard, not exactly what I meant. The tube in question fits inside the steering shaft. It pokes out at the steering wheel end about 1/2" which allows the control lever bracket to be clamped to it. The other end has to be fixed at the steering box end using a threaded brass fitting which I now understand has to be soldered on, the same as the control levers are soldered on to their tubes. Many thanks for your quick response. I can now get on with it. Regards Rob.
