Over the years I have gone from a carport on gravel to a single garage to a double then now to a 100 sq m (1000 sq foot?) shed. Can't say I would want to go back to smaller. The problem with more space though is you start thinking you need more cars to fill it...

Also bigger workshops turn out to be much harder to light.

Ivor, I would be more than content having the space and light of your new work area. My next move includes a double garage or space to build. will be giving up full-time working soon.
Martin Prior your set up and various outbuildings, one can only dream of.

Those valve spring compressors were for 7 litre Chrysler V8s that I used to mess around with, but I don’t have room for those these days...I’d give myself a hernia just picking up a crankshaft these days!
