It's a little bit of an interesting optical illusion - and the artist may not have got the perspective quite right. She's standing at the outside edge of the door - which is fully open - so placing her some feet away from the side of the car. If you "walk" her backwards to the door opening, the original picture looks as if it might be correct (though allowing for the usual Austin Seven let's-make-the-people-as-small-as-possible advertising rule).
In the modified picture, the perspective has put her feet on the ground in relation to a line drawn between the front and back wheels - which makes her around 5-feet, or rather less, tall.
