Nippy Steering Box Ratio. - Robert Foreman - 14-03-2018 I believe this may have been discussed before but I would like to ask does the Nippy steering box have a higher ratio than the standard one? RE: Nippy Steering Box Ratio. - dickie65 - 15-03-2018 Hi Robert, I am sure my Type 65 has the same ratio as the box saloon steering box. The steering box casting is different to lower the column and the column is longer. The Austin Steering ratio is already very high, a few race Austins have an extended steering arm on the axle to reduce the effective ratio. If you can find copy of Chris Goulds guide to the Type 65 and Nippy it will be worthwhile. Cheers Richard RE: Nippy Steering Box Ratio. - Ian Williams - 15-03-2018 My Nippy always feels different Robert, but I put that down to the subtly larger 16" Frank Ashby steering wheel, std wheels are 15" |
