RE: Scammer alert… - Steve kay - 16-10-2024 Thanks for the warning, I will pass this on. Followed by rude muttering. RE: Scammer alert… - Hugh Barnes - 16-10-2024 There is another suspicious activity that I have become aware of on Facebook. Someone asks for parts and then someone resopnds saying 'Message me'. If you look at that persons profile, they are normally in the US. Hardly likely to be a genuine seller. Always do some checking on who you might be dealing with. On Facebook, next to the posts from such people are 3 little dots. If you click on these, you will see the option to report the person to the group admin as a scammer. Hopefully, admin will delete the post and block the person from the group. I haven;t worked out yet what the scam might be, but it clearly is one... RE: Scammer alert… - Bluebird7 - 17-10-2024 I,m currently 'chatting' to Mr Williams ????? Think he was a Nigerian Prince in a former life ???? He's now a wheelchair bound 90 year old, living in Scotchland and I'm 'buying' a Van off him, I don't think !!!!!! RE: Scammer alert… - goodwoodweirdo - 18-10-2024 Its also happening on the VSCC site, so they've even gone to the trouble of getting access to their forum... I'm a big advocate of using the reputation function on this site, really helps especially when you see something advertised.... I've been incredibly lucky with forum members selling parts and being patient whilst I arrange collection. thank you ... cheers |
