That looks like a mag engine with an alternative dynamo to me

Interesting - I wonder how that was achieved?
I get fed up with the unreliability and frailty of the CAV DFL. I use my Chummy quite hard and have blown up three mag dynamos in the last 10 years.

I was thinking the same.
It looks as if either the dynamo housing has been bored out to accommodate a larger diameter dynamo body or the dynamo body has been turned down to fit in the housing.
Or both.

or "joined" to a shortened DFL body, with an extension to drive it??
