Routine Maintenance. - Robert Foreman - 15-07-2024 A lovely photograph of an early RN Saloon on homemade ramps. Note the bumpers, but what is the cylinder under the spare wheel? RE: Routine Maintenance. - Howard Wright - 15-07-2024 Hi Robert Super photo. Can’t help with the explanation for the cylinder but note the leather soled shoes!! I had several pairs like that years ago! Uncomfortable and noisy. Cheers Howard RE: Routine Maintenance. - Ivor Hawkins - 15-07-2024 What a smashing shot, like Howard, I have no idea what the cylinder is, but unlike Howard, I wear leather soled shoes, I have probably a dozen pairs and in my experience, they are supremely comfortable! RE: Routine Maintenance. - Ruairidh Dunford - 15-07-2024 I bought my Loakes, 13 years ago, they still work perfectly. No idea about the cylinder… sorry. RE: Routine Maintenance. - Ruairidh Dunford - 15-07-2024 The photo is excellent too, Robert! RE: Routine Maintenance. - robert regan - 15-07-2024 are they mk2 swallow bumpers I see nice car RE: Routine Maintenance. - AustinWood - 15-07-2024 I think the cylinder is a dashboard light being used to illuminate the number plate. Otherwise it's either: (a) a drogue parachute for emergency stops or (b) some sort of nasty surprise for tailgaters... Great photo Robert! RE: Routine Maintenance. - bystander - 16-07-2024 Looks much too big for a dashboard light to me, and the general tidy appearance of the car suggests that sort of bodge would not be employed by the owner, even more so with a fitment intended for interior use being. exposed to the elements. I suspect the bumpers are an aftermarket embellishment supplied by such as Elephant Motors. RE: Routine Maintenance. - Andy Bennett - 16-07-2024 Zooming in it looks like it has a frame with release clips on it so perhaps a fire extinguisher viewed from the bottom? |
