Wheel Balancing - Steve Bryant - 10-03-2018 It would be nice to balance the 19" solid center wheels dynamically on a modern machine but because of the solid center you can't mount the wheel in any way. This begs the question: How does one balance the the solid center wheels for Austin Sevens? Stephen RE: Wheel Balancing - Duncan Grimmond - 10-03-2018 This. used to be a problem for 2CV owners, the solid centres of the wheels would not go onto a modern balancing machine. More recently some Peugots and Toyotas (I think) have solid centre wheels and most modern tyre-fitters have the appropriate machines to balance them. RE: Wheel Balancing - Alan - 10-03-2018 There’s several options, which may or may not be available depending on where you go. First and simplest, a 3.50x19 probably doesn’t need more than a static balance on a standard car - it probably doesn’t go fast enough to reach any resonant frequency the car has. Then there is a spider device which located on the wheel stud holes rather than the spigot bore. Or, you could just use an on car balancing machine. If they tell you it can’t be done, take it someplace else, because it can.
