Sales Talks - Chris Garner - 20-02-2024 I have been fortunate to acquire a transcript of a 90 page 1930 booklet entitled ' Austin Sales Talks - Confidential to the Sales Force. ' I have never seen one before. The booklet covers all variants, including the the Seven; it being described as ' the little friend of all the world. ' Going on to mention the new forthcoming 1931 model... It is as 'peppy' as ever As reliable as ever As sturdy as ever But it is certainly - and must be admitted to be: MORE BEAUTIFUL THAN EVER. Many here would agree no doubt! RE: Sales Talks - Hugh Barnes - 20-02-2024 If you want some entertainment, turn to the section where the 1931 TT race is mentioned, a race when the Austins were soundly beaten by the MGs. If ever there was spin put on something, that is a perfect example... RE: Sales Talks - Hugh Barnes - 20-02-2024 AH, good point, Nick. Yes, there is a copy in the Archive that was acquired just before the Centenary. In the panic of the time, it appears that it may not have been digitised. I will follow up on that with the current Archivist.... |
