Pinion Torque tube Identification - john williams - 12-02-2024

I have a selection of three piece rear axles casings in bits, and I cannot remember which torque tubes go with which centre pieces. Looking on the past threads, on pinions/torque tubes, it seems to suggest there are only two types of torque tubes. The one for the later twin pinion bearing arrangement, and the earlier one with the much shorter pinion bearing carrier. I am discounting the obvious "screw in" variant. I have one 1926sh assembly which is self evidently matches up, but seem to have different centre pieces. Guidance would be appreciated please.

Hi John

Jack French’s article in ‘The Companion’ may help?

Cheers
