Egypt to Bovingdon - Rupert Harding-Newman - Barry - 04-03-2018 In Spring 1931 Rupert Harding-Newman, an officer in the Royal Tank Regiment, drove an Austin Seven from Egypt (?) overland to England to attend a course at Bovingdon Camp. R.H-N went on to be a founder member of the LRDG, a Major-General, and died in 2007 in his 100th-year. Does anyone know the details of the route and the car (photos)? |
