CAV Dynamo - Tod - 10-11-2023
I have just overhauled my CAV DFL Dynamo. When cleaning and inspecting, I noticed in the front bearing housing the lubricating/ locating hole was blocked. On clearing this I wondered if it was the remains a of a felt plug or just " old gunge".
Can anyone please advise.

Somebody will know for sure - but on machine tools, 'felt lubricators' usually dip into a 'sump' of oil and have a spring behind them to press the felt onto the rotating part.
