6v versus 12v Condenser - DaveT - 19-05-2023 Quick question. I'm running a Bosch 009 distributor, are 6v and 12v condensers the same? The spares I've bought don't have any identification, so if it is a 12v is it OK to use? I would think that a 6v would not working on a 12v system, but what about a 12v on a 6v system. I have a multimeter so could I test it and if so what would I set the meter too. RE: 6v versus 12v Condenser - John Cornforth - 19-05-2023 Hi Both the same. The condenser sees a peak voltage of 300 to 400 volts on an A7 and condensers sold for this purpose will reliably withstand that. Multimeter test won't reveal much. RE: 6v versus 12v Condenser - Bill Dixon - 19-05-2023 Hi Dave T, If it's any help I always test mine with a 500volt megger. If you know an electrician they may be of help. |
