With my anorak firmly zipped up - and pondering thoughts decades old, can anyone confirm that the wiring terminals to a Rist horn were of the Ross Courtney circular type?

Sorry - no - even though I have mostly original wiring, the MOT man made me change the somewhat tattered wires to the horn about 20 years ago - and I cannot remember. (His concern seemed to arise from the fact that they are permanently live.)
Hopefully, somebody else knows.

Yes i believe they were.
Must admit I do solder them as well, and put a hellman sleeve on the cable.
