Mystery parts, part 3 - Nick Lettington - 14-02-2023 OK... not really parts, more tools this time. I think one of these was a bead breaker, but it's obviously incomplete. Does anyone know what the missing bits look like... they may be in another box... Then what about the feet? They have some radiused rubber pads... are they also tyre related? Finally I haven't seen a file and feeler gauges combined like this... does anyone know if its from a particular car tool kit... someone might like one! Any thoughts as to their origin? The oval plate at an angle looks like a puncture or tyre-wall repair hold-up RE: Mystery parts, part 3 - Nick Lettington - 19-02-2023 Thanks Duncan. I don't think it's a spring compressor, as the lever end is more akin to a tyre lever. My guess of a bead breaker is based on some similar (not very) items on the Internet. You may well be right about the feet... destined for the scrap bin I fear! RE: Mystery parts, part 3 - Duncan Grimmond - 19-02-2023 Part of a vulcanising set? RE: Mystery parts, part 3 - Nick Lettington - 19-02-2023 A small clutch release bearing? Any thoughts as to the origin? Pretty sure I've got one somewhere that came with some other Morris bits late last century. Steve RE: Mystery parts, part 3 - Nick Lettington - 19-02-2023 Thank you both |
