Missing chassis bolt ? - k8207418 - 22-10-2022

I was fitting a replacement tank to a Ruby mk2 and noticed a hole in the chassis with no bolt.
Looks like it maybe used to bolt body to a chassis but there doesn’t appear to be a hole in the body
I have removed the sound deadening on the inside but nothing
There is a hole on both sides of the car
Any thoughts ?

There should be a bolt in the far corner on each side, under the seat squab.

I think Ive seen a post recently identifying the positions of the bolts that hold the body to the chassis but not found it yet

I think Ruairidh's answered your question.

Thanks for your input Steve but it hasn’t added anything to the thread.
Given these two bolts are missing I want to check if the others are fitted and tight which is why I raised the query regarding the other bolts.
Ruairidh, thanks for the info. I’m guessing I will need to drill from the bottom which will be a challenge. Given the movement on these outriggers I think I will need to fit the tank first and then mark the position or try and drill with the tank in situ.

I have several very long drill bits (18” or so) which I use to drill pilot holes for such jobs.

Your floor has obviously been repaired at some point and the holes left undrilled.

Yep
I got it part built and sometimes it’s like a jigsaw without the picture
Fortunately there’s always someone here who can advise

Can anyone remember seeing a post showing a fairly basic drawing of body and chassis showing the fixing bolts ?
Even if you can’t find it I would like confirmation I don’t dream it ?

Steve can also advise, he is extremely knowledgeable and well worth keeping in with.

This diagram is a little early for your car…

This one should be correct, however…

That’s brilliant
Many thanks
