Ruby Starter Pull Cable - k8207418 - 15-10-2022 I’m looking for a starter pull cable if anyone has one available Thanks RE: Ruby Starter Pull Cable - Mike Costigan - 15-10-2022 Bicycle brake cable, perhaps? RE: Ruby Starter Pull Cable - k8207418 - 15-10-2022 It’s the knob assembly at the dash end that’s the problem I’m sure something will turn up ? RE: Ruby Starter Pull Cable - John Mason - 15-10-2022 k8207418, What is the problem with your cable pull. When I first acquired my Ruby the knob assembly was tight to pull and had to be pushed back in by hand. On removing from the outer I found a bodged attempt to solder a new cable to the shank of the knob. A bit of work with a file soon removed the access solder and it has worked correctly ever since. RE: Ruby Starter Pull Cable - k8207418 - 15-10-2022 The pull I have is not from an A7 I’m looking for an original design that fits the dash that’s all RE: Ruby Starter Pull Cable - Steve Jones - 15-10-2022 Most motor factors will sell you a ready built up cable and outer that you can cut to length. An example: https://www.beal.org.uk/automotive/vehicle-cables-locking-wire/stop-cable.html You then cut off the plastic handle and glue on a more appropriate starter knob. I've done that a number of times for starter or choke pulls and all work fine. Steve RE: Ruby Starter Pull Cable - Howard Wright - 15-10-2022 Hi Is this what you are looking for? I don’t know if it is Ruby or not but it matches the photos on your other thread. Note the cable needs replacing. If you’re interested send me your address via a pm and I’ll post it to you. In return £10 donation to MacMillan cancer fund please. Cheers Howard ![]() ![]() RE: Ruby Starter Pull Cable - k8207418 - 15-10-2022 That’s Great Many thanks RE: Ruby Starter Pull Cable - Michael D - 15-10-2022 the starter pull of a 2 CV is similar and does not need that much modification this (https://www.franzose.de/en/Alle/Alle/Anlasser/ANR14588/) is a link to a supplier in Germany but there should be a Citroen 2CV specialist within the UK as well I'd think . BTW the 'D' stands for "demarreur"... gives a little French touch to your Ruby... |
