Could someone post some pics of the starter pull fitted on the dash both in and out please
I’ve bought what is supposed to be and original unit but it doesn’t fit the chrome bush in the dash
I cocked something up but not sure what

So, for a “start” mine has an S on it so it’s not right
Also it’s just the inner cable that is visible through the chrome ferrule

I have seen many Rubies with just the S on the button - I wouldn't discount yours as being 'wrong'.

Totally different
I could make it fit if I drilled it out but would prefer the right item

That starter pull in the dashboard looks too modern and out of period ??!!
I have an Old Ruby column in the junkpile and it has a starter pull in the mounting bracket like the earlier cars.
Who is to say which is correct as there might have been a factory change during the Jewels production.

I’ve just looked in my copy of Rinsey Mills book. He shows three dashboards from the late Jewel cars. All have a starter pull like the one in the pictures earlier in the thread.

Please bear in mind that the starter pull pictured above is in an export model Ruby. That might be why there is a difference.

I suspect the column I have got is from an early Ruby then with the starter in the same position as my 1934 car.
