Torque tube adjustment - 12jslater - 07-09-2022 Hello everyone after radio silence for quite a while I return with a question, how tight should the Bolts holding the castlated disc on be on the later torque tube (silentbloc) as when I have them nipped up there is a whining noise when driving like a noisy diff and when pulling away a judder however when loose (a lot more than I feel comfortable leaving it) the juddering stops nearly completely and the whining quietens a lot! Just double checking I’m not missing anything out! Hope to hear back! RE: Torque tube adjustment - John Mason - 07-09-2022 Hi, All I can tell you is don’t over tighten them. A previous owner on my car has tightened the studs too tight causing the castlated disc to warp and I am now unable to adjust the disc. I suspect is has made it go cross threaded. John Mason. RE: Torque tube adjustment - Terrytuned - 07-09-2022 The bolts only stop the adjuster unscrewing they should not be tight, fit self locking nuts to the bolts and fit a grease nipple in the top of the ball bracket.
