Rear bearing cover plate - GCD - 12-07-2022 3 bearing Ruby engine. Some advice please - What is the design clearance between the boss on the flywheel and the reverse scroll on the rear maim bearing cover plate ? Measured both and am getting max 0.003" radial clearance. Both boss & scroll are in good nick, with no ovality, taper or pick-up on the scroll. so guess this should be O.K. but confirmation would give me a warm feeling! Graham. RE: Rear bearing cover plate - Ian Williams - 13-07-2022 It should be fine, just make sure that you have put the oil thrower in behind it or it will leak. RE: Rear bearing cover plate - GCD - 13-07-2022 Ian - Thanks for the warm feeling. Have sent for a new oil thrower as the old one was loose on the crank. It was fitted with the concave face towards the bearing. Do you know if this is correct or should the concave face towards the cover plate - Can't find a answer in any of the books. Graham |
