A7 '32 Rear spring grese nipple - Nick Mayne - 17-05-2022 The present rear spring 'push-on' nipples are difficult to access with my grease gun as they are straight and partly obscured by the brake lever. Hence I need angled nipples. The thread measures 3/8" diameter but the only die I could find that fitted was 3/8" BSA !! Can any one tell me what the actual thread type is? Thanks, Nick RE: A7 '32 Rear spring grese nipple - Howard Wright - 17-05-2022 Hi Nick I think they are 1/8 BSP parallel thread. Cheers Howard RE: A7 '32 Rear spring grese nipple - Ian Dunford - 17-05-2022 Howard is correct. RE: A7 '32 Rear spring grese nipple - Peter Naulls - 17-05-2022 Many years ago I had complete brake failure on the Ruby, both times when the car was heavily laden and on a rough road. Eventually we found that an angled grease nipple was just able to snag on a rear brake lever (or cable end?) and lock everything solid. Just thought I'd mention it! RE: A7 '32 Rear spring grese nipple - Bob Culver - 18-05-2022 Reminds me of an incident years ago. A large late night delivery truck was stranded in the local township. The driver repeatedly part engaged the clutch in low gear. I was bemused by the abuse and stopped to watch..Eventually the prop shaft sheared! (Large trucks have fail safe systems) |
