Simon diffey RIP - Tony Betts - 16-05-2022 I was shocked and saddend earlier today to here we had lost simon diffey in a fatal car accident. Many will know simon ran merrys printers. And had a life long love of vintage car, along with the austin 7. He is already being missed by the old car world. Simon delivered me the monte carlo style rally plates, shown below. Last month. Each car attending the centenary will get one free. So I'd like to thank simon for his help in producing them. RE: Simon diffey RIP - Austin in the Shed - 16-05-2022 Sad to hear that and condolences to his family.I had read earlier in the week of an accident between a Bugatti and an ambulance and thought the car may be vintage and had just read it was Simon on Facebook . Do any out there remember James and Simon coming along to one of the Lincs PWA7C club trials about 30 years ago with an Ulster, there was no easing off with the throttle for them,I remember the car went home with the rods through the side! RE: Simon diffey RIP - Ruairidh Dunford - 16-05-2022 Very sorry to read this Tony. RE: Simon diffey RIP - Hedd_Jones - 16-05-2022 Yes very sad. Father sold Simon a Humber 9/28 chassis years ago RE: Simon diffey RIP - Nick Salmon - 16-05-2022 What a tragedy. Condolences to his friends and family. RE: Simon diffey RIP - Malcolm Parker - 17-05-2022 A sad loss to the old car world. It was always entertaining watching any of the Diffey family competing whether it be trialling or racing, total commitment and the ability to wring the last bit of performance out of any car. RE: Simon diffey RIP - Alan - 17-05-2022 Sad news. Rest in peace. |
