Can any one send me some good pics of a boot latch or advise what I’m missing

The first thing you are missing is this advice: Always resort to the A7CA archive. If you look here

The mechanism is inside the car, behind the back seat.
Difficult to photo in the dark when everything is painted black.

I have a modified lock that I fitted to mine until I got one suitable off ebay. If I can find it you can have it for the price of the postage...
If you want the plate that goes inside the boot and the key I made for it... a little more.
