Main bearing advice - Robbie.watson@uk.bp.com - 23-01-2018 Hi all Starting to rebuild my new engine and need to purchase new main bearings.. Trouble is I'm not sure which ones I need for the front. The crankcase number is 186772, should I be getting the AC full width or the AC narrow set? Looking at the details on our cherished suppliers sites the cutover seems to be 1934 which I think is about the age of my crankcase.... Any advice very gratefully received Cheers Robbie RE: Main bearing advice - Tony Press - 24-01-2018 (23-01-2018, 11:29 PM)Robbie.watson@uk.bp.com Wrote: Hi all For a while the narrow bearings were fitted in the old housings with two 30 thou spacing washers front and back. Measure the housing depth- the pair of standard 'wide' bearing are 1 5/8" the pair of 'narrow' outer ring bearings are 1 9/16" (approx 60 thou less). Cheers, Tony.
