Thank you for adding me to the forum.
My son and I have recently bought an Austin 7 Ruby which needs putting together. My friend started the project 19 years ago and has done almost everything apart from re assembling it.
We have lots of questions so we have joined our local Austin Seven Owners Club. I’m sure many of the answers will be on here already too.

That looks like a mk 1 Ruby, from about 1935? Not that Austin called them mk 1 and mk 2.

Yes it is a MK 1 from 1935

Great to see another 7 rescued
We took a similar project on a few years ago but ours is a 1936 Ruby.
We have experienced a massive amount of help from the forum.
I see you are roofless at the moment not sure which parts you have however as you probably know almost all parts are available.
I found most problems solved by posting pictures and a brief explanation

Looks like a nice early Ruby.
Glad to see you are upholding the tradition of having a threadbare pre 1960 MOT style tyre to push the chassis around on !

Thank you, I’m sure we will have a few questions as we didn’t dismantle the car. The sliding roof makes no sense to me yet but I’m told that I have all the parts.

Thanks for those lists! Very helpful information.
I now know that the 2 random pieces that I couldn’t work out are called flitch plates after looking at the body parts book.
