31/32 rear axle oil seal - Howard Wright - 23-03-2022 Hi All I have a 31/32 rear axle where the torque tube to banjo joint includes shims to get the CW&P mesh correct. There is no mention in Woodrow about how to seal this joint. I put it together with just the shims and no gasket goo, however I’m now getting a very small oil leak from the joint. What do others use to seal this joint? I’m a little concerned that any sealant may throw the mesh out. Cheers Howard RE: 31/32 rear axle oil seal - AustinWood - 23-03-2022 I doubt that it's a problem. Perhaps slightly less oil in the axle would prevent it. The specified quantity is over-generous. RE: 31/32 rear axle oil seal - Bob Culver - 24-03-2022 It stops the diff housing rusting. Can smear Si around the assembled joint. |
