Wheels nuts - GrahamW - 17-01-2022

Hi all

I am looking at competing in my Ulster rep and i believe i have to use Nylocks.
I can get them locally, but what size washer do i need ?
I am guessing it is a mud wing repair washer, but there is a multitude of sizes..

Thanks  Smile

If you are using wheels that have the dowel locator holes next to the stud then one of the chaps doing the Bert Hadley series sells special s/steel washers with a taper that fits arround the stud. Very simple and clever. I believe a lot of the racing boys use them. Dont have a contact name but some digging will turn it up I would have thought.

Graham

The thread is 3/8 BSF.

A M10 Form G washer will be very easy to find and do the job fine.

Not needing to worry about competition, I simply turned the taper off a new stainless nut (bought from one of our specialist suppliers), and used some bar turned 3/8 washers I had in stock.

And still made by him but now sold by Charlie PJ as confirmed by Alistair FC when I asked about them at Harewood last September.
