Rist Horn on 12 Volts - Nick Mayne - 14-01-2022 Do I need a resistor in series to run a 6V Rist horn on 12 Volts? If so can anyone recommend an Ohm value and even a specific item? RE: Rist Horn on 12 Volts - Peter Clayton - 14-01-2022 I run my six volt klaxon on twelve volts. works well and scares the bejesus out of those who offend me. RE: Rist Horn on 12 Volts - Dave Wortley - 15-01-2022 My 6v Rist horn has been on 12v for the last 18 years. RE: Rist Horn on 12 Volts - Nick Mayne - 16-01-2022 Thank you both that is re-assuring so I need to do nothing and that is a change! RE: Rist Horn on 12 Volts - John Mason - 17-01-2022 Can I ask a question just out of curiosity. Does running a 6 volt horn on 12 volts change the tone or its volume. John Mason. RE: Rist Horn on 12 Volts - Peter Clayton - 17-01-2022 Will raiseĀ tone/pitch and volume. Possibly eyebrows as well. RE: Rist Horn on 12 Volts - Dave Mann - 17-01-2022 Whilst the Benjamin horn sounds OK on 12 volts the Rist horn was a bit too shrill for a Seven so I used a spare dynamo field resistor to drop the voltage to give a more acceptable tone. |
