A question of racing to while away a winter's evening - Tony Griffiths - 29-11-2021 Could they do it? RE: A question of racing to while away a winter's evening - Ian Dunford - 29-11-2021 Sanity at last. RE: A question of racing to while away a winter's evening - Tony Press - 29-11-2021 Bring back Jack Brabham ! RE: A question of racing to while away a winter's evening - Colin Cooke - 29-11-2021 Jack Brabham is a no-brainer, but Mike Hawthorn might have given him a run for his money. I believe he was in the middle of a Riley restoration at the time of his death. I feel that all the drivers from the 50s and 60s would have done a pretty good job. Senna would have been good, from the later era. RE: A question of racing to while away a winter's evening - Mike Costigan - 29-11-2021 Didn't Fangio build his own special before he came to Europe? And, of course, Colin Chapman qualifies as an F1 racer, even if he didn't start in the 1956 French Grand Prix. RE: A question of racing to while away a winter's evening - Andy Bennett - 29-11-2021 RIP Frank Williams. I loved going to see Mansell in red 5 racing. Even did a hour coach trip to see his win at San Marino in 87. It took us 8 hours to get out of the car park, then we drove overnight back to the UK. Madness. Andy RE: A question of racing to while away a winter's evening - Graham Barker - 29-11-2021 Bruce McLaren would easily beat any of the above. He started his racing career in an Austin Seven and was a very "hands on" designer and builder of race cars. RE: A question of racing to while away a winter's evening - Reckless Rat - 29-11-2021 Schumacher would have just punted the pair of them off into the barriers. RE: A question of racing to while away a winter's evening - Colin Morgan - 29-11-2021 Issigonis didn't quite make F1 but he would have flourished under these circumstances? RE: A question of racing to while away a winter's evening - Mike Costigan - 29-11-2021 I suppose we should also add John Miles to the list; and come to think of it, Graham Hill was a dab hand with the spanners too. |
