Favored release baring lubricant - Steve Bryant - 24-11-2021 Hi all, I have fitted the new release bearing to its holder and am wondering if there is a favored modern oil / lubricant that is the current choice for this application. This is for the three speed crash box type of bearing on my '29 AD seven. Thanks, Stephen RE: Favored release baring lubricant - AustinWood - 24-11-2021 Engine oil. We are using SAE 30 at the moment. RE: Favored release baring lubricant - Hedd_Jones - 24-11-2021 I use ISO1000 or 680 grade steam oil. The 680 equates broadly to SAE 140 gear oil, which us Austin blokes should have for axle top up. RE: Favored release baring lubricant - Nick Turley - 25-11-2021 I use EP90 here. RE: Favored release baring lubricant - David Stepney - 25-11-2021 10/40 out of the oilcan. |
