RN/RP radiator necks - Stuart Joseph - 14-11-2021 Good morning. I'm currently working on RN & RP radiator surrounds and I have found that they have a rubber grommet between the filler neck and the surround. Is this original and if so has anyone identified a suitable replacement? Regards from the creative county - Staffordshire Stuart RE: RN/RP radiator necks - Bill Dixon - 14-11-2021 At one time John Barlow sold RP caps, but not sure if he did other parts. RE: RN/RP radiator necks - Stuart Joseph - 14-11-2021 Perhaps my post wasn’t clear, this is a cylindrical grommet which prevents movement between the filler neck of the radiator and the hole in the surround. RE: RN/RP radiator necks - Robert Leigh - 14-11-2021 May I suggest an O ring of suitable thickness, or possibly two together. RE: RN/RP radiator necks - Steve Jones - 14-11-2021 When I wanted one of these I used a Close Coupled WC Doughnut Washer suitably trimmed to size. £1.48 at Tool Station. Steve RE: RN/RP radiator necks - Chris KC - 14-11-2021 I used amalgamating tape. RE: RN/RP radiator necks - Dave Mann - 15-11-2021 Part number BD 184, when I was employed I just looked in the stores for a suitable O ring. RE: RN/RP radiator necks - Stuart Joseph - 15-11-2021 Thanks for the replies. I can make up an ‘o’ ring using one didn’t occur to me ☹️ RE: RN/RP radiator necks - Stumpi - 15-11-2021 Conveyer belting and wad punch. RE: RN/RP radiator necks - Stuart Joseph - 17-11-2021 Result! I bought some 4mm neoprene cord and made an 'o' ring to fit inside the rad surround neck. 'Jobs a good 'un' !! Regards from the creative county - Staffordshire. |
