LARGE END STEERING BUSH, - Rpm - 10-09-2021

Hi Forum, A question on the large Nut/ Bush. Does it come out, or is it machined into the box?
Regards RPM

The nut does come off, but you have to carefully drill into the dot punch marks a little until it will turn.

Hope you are taking notes Robert - I'll quiz you on this later!

RE: LARGE END STEERING BUSH, - Rpm - 10-09-2021

Robert, what comes off after drilling the punch indents out, the whole thing or just the brass part?
Chris. Quiz me once it's off.
Another question, are the worm parts the same on all steering columns of the same type box. 36
Regards

The brass part is attached to the stator tube which comes out upwards when the nut is off. The stator tube has to be fixed against rotation so that there is a fixture at the top for the levers to operate against.

Thanks, Robert. Will have a go. Regards Rpm.

As mentioned before- screw down the worm onto the brass bush flange inside the box to stop the bush  turning when undoing the nut.
