crank timing gear - scrooge - 28-06-2021 I wondered if anyone had a spare +1 crank timing gear. I have been running my sporty two bearing engine with an 1.5" phoenix crank with a high lift cam and flat followers etc , but have decided to rebuild it without the noisy cam and so thought I might try matched gears . I had a +1/2 crank gear and +2 cam gear in the +1 marked crankcase but as I have a +1 cam gear , I thought I might try asking if anyone has an odd +1 crank gear. Failing that I will resort to trying others from my box of parts, as previously seen advised on this forum. Chas RE: crank timing gear? - David.H - 16-07-2021 I have a pair of new old stock steel gears negligible, surface corrosion. I am not sure where they are placed in the engine!...I no longer have a parts book, but they came with a 1929 RK & a 1932 AG Larger (4.3/8" O/dia I/d taper 3/4 to 7/8" with key slot) no 1A485 with 0 2 numbers stamped and two holes to reduce weight? Smaller (2.3/8"O/dia I/d) 1 1/8" no taper with key slot) no number except 0 then +1 1/5? stamped, but the partner tied to the larger with 90 year old string!! Dimensions very nominal (measured with a steel rule!) Any interest to you or anyone else? David |
