Glamping in an Austin - leaf200 - 10-06-2021 RE: Glamping in an Austin - Tony Griffiths - 10-06-2021 Power to weight ratio 7 bhp/ton? RE: Glamping in an Austin - Charles Levien - 10-06-2021 I’d say he needs a wee dram RE: Glamping in an Austin - Bob Culver - 10-06-2021 The roof rack would have limited top speed. In the 60s my Seven would romp past heavy trucks on long hills. Maybe 90 hp for 10 tons. RE: Glamping in an Austin - Peter Naulls - 10-06-2021 What a great photo. Very optimistic even by my standards! RE: Glamping in an Austin - Tony Griffiths - 10-06-2021 (10-06-2021, 08:45 PM)Peter Naulls Wrote: What a great photo. Very optimistic even by my standards!Mine, too. I've towed some crazy loads behind light cars but even I would baulk at that one - except for a big bet. I once dispatched a chap to collect a 3/4-ton milling machine. Did he take the heavy trailer? No, he took the East German-made 400 kg job (lighter, innit, mate). He nearly made it back, stopped only by the wheels - made as two pressings spot-welded together - both peeled apart at 2 am on the A6 just outside Buxton. Fortunately, the wheels on my camping trailer fitted, so he was rescued before plod arrived. RE: Glamping in an Austin - Henry Harris - 11-06-2021 |
