Pytchley sunroof fabric - NJB - 27-05-2021 I have recently acquired a super original Ruby, complete with full rexine interior and a fully functioning Pytchley sunroof. The fabric covering is showing some wear and I think needs weatherproofing. I remember waterproofing a fabric roof panel on a Wolseley Nine I had many years ago with a rubberised bitumen type of paint. What is recommended for the sunroof material? RE: Pytchley sunroof fabric - Ray White - 27-05-2021 Woolies sell this. Not having tried it, I cannot vouch for it . https://www.woolies-trim.co.uk/product/1571/ultra-proofer RE: Pytchley sunroof fabric - Robert Leigh - 27-05-2021 I have heard of people using dubbin to weatherproof fabric bodywork or roof panels. If trying this I suggest that it is well rubbed into any little surface cracks and wiped off afterwards so that the stickiness is minimised. I feel that you have nothing to lose by trying this, and it may prove to be an easy solution. You may wish to polish with black boot polish afterwards which can improve the appearance and the wax will repel water which can only help. |
