RP Windscreen - David Grear - 02-05-2021 I have purchased a RP Saloon that has been in pieces for 35 years. Going through the may boxes I think the only thing I am missing is the hinge for the Windscreen. I have the Windscreen but not the top of the hinge that bolts to the body. If anyone has a photo of my missing hinge it would be appreciated. I am in Australia and we have very few RP's over here. RE: RP Windscreen - john williams - 02-05-2021 David, I had the screen assembly out of my RL a month ago. The top half of the hinge was a simple "P" section strip made from brass. About 3/32inch thick. I cannot give you dimensions, but the flat edge of the "P" section abuts the inner face of the bulkhead windscreen aperture, and the outer edge of the "P" section when fitted to the screen aligns with the windscreen pillar. The inside diameter of the "P" section corresponds with the diameter of the of the top of the windscreen male hinge, from memory 3/8 inch, but may be 5/16 inch. Sorry I cannot give you photo's and exact dimensions, but hopefully this will give you the basis to play with. As with most things Austin Seven, simplicity ruled. John RE: RP Windscreen - David Grear - 05-05-2021 Thankyou for your help. |
