Q: bonded front suspension arm pair - JonE - 08-03-2021 Looking back to Platts, I realised the 4 separate arms I have are of course meant to be two separate and one bonded together into two, back to back. As it ends are attached by the alloy link, does it matter for operation if the bonded one is separate.? RE: Q: bonded front suspension arm pair - "Slack Alice" Simon - 08-03-2021 Don't think it matters - BUT - (trying to remember) - I think the centre ones carry a big washer (in effect) that centres the friction discs, you need to make sure your arms have this .....if, indeed I am remebering correctly. A bit of assembling will make it clear if you need the "washer" - without it the discs can float away from the central position. RE: Q: bonded front suspension arm pair - JonE - 08-03-2021 yup - thanks - they both have that. I was wondering whether the one I had experienced before had just been accidentally held together by corrosion, hence looking at Platts to confirm! |
