RE: Axle tramp - Bob Culver - 13-02-2021 Perhaps someone can locate and publish the account of a stage show based on this feature of Sevens. i recall watching a young university student learning to drive in a Seven in the early 60s. The car was hopping just as the stage showman described as his inspiration. Little wonder the axle keys are so often distorted. RE: Axle tramp - Chris Garner - 13-02-2021 750 MC Walton Hall Hotel, Wellsbourne, BBC Top Gear Rally. 31st May 1982. Presenter, William Woollard ( remember him?!) Fifty one representative Sevens from 1923 thro' to 1938. Two Nippys and one 65, and I've no idea which, but at an informal driving test which involved driving in reverse into a " garage " one of these cars exhibited the most violent axle tramp I've ever seen in a Seven, the car leaping off the ground. Woollard and many others couldn't believe it. Anyone remember it? |
