Friends' Gallery Picture of the Month - December 2020 - Mike Costigan - 01-12-2020
The premises of J Richards, Hucknall Street, Nottingham, taken in early 1931. The car in the foreground is a brand new RH fabric saloon, with a two or three year-old coachbuilt fabric saloon behind. In the showroom is a sporting two-seater, possibly a Swallow.

Richards were situated on Hucknall Road, the main drag out of Nottingham to " Mucky 'Ucknall " ...as it was called.
Love the two enormous Austin signs either side of the workshop entrance. Wonder if they were enamelled.

Indeed, Chris, my mistake: Hucknall Road it is. The original photo clearly shows the large Austin signs are painted direct onto the brickwork.
