Type 65 Gas / Ign control levers - Scarlet O'Hara - 13-10-2020

Does anybody have a handy photo of the manual ignition advance / retard and gas levers down at the steering box of a Type 65? Are the levers the same as on an RN saloon or was the "gas" one a different length? Having trouble fitting the one I have which seems to foul the brake pedal.

This is the only one I have. Taken when I was sorting out the action of the advance/retard mechanism. I remember it all seemed pretty crowded down there and I took everything apart and started from scratch with both controls. When I got the car the operation of the advance/retard lever was back to front. I am away from home so can't check, but I'm pretty sure this is a "before" photo and the advance retard rod wants to be the other side of the steering column.

The 'gas' lever is approx half the length of the ignition lever.

Does this help?      On an RN saloon.

On my RK the A/R is reversed as it works much more smoothly with the distributor lever pointing at the bonnet, no idea why!! I just have to remember. Downside is that the rod has to hang with split pins uppermost and so more likely to let the rod drop off if a pin lets go. The controls also want to try to follow the turning of the steering wheel despite the clamp being really tight.
