Is it a common thing that on right lock the osf brake catches ?

Yes.
The geometry of the front brakes is not perfect.
The balls of the brake lever should be directly under the kingpin axes, so everything says in the same relative position as the wheels swivel, but they never are.
So the brakes come on a bit as the wheels turn to full lock, an increasing amount as the cable is adjusted to take up the wear.

Thanks for that 'slack' so we spend all that time building speed up to then have automatic brakes ! All the moderns thought they were first with their automatic this and that !!

And automatic reverse warning too - they quite often squeal if you are turning while reversing.

Ensure that the brake levers are the right way round. Ball towards the wheel.

And the direction of the cotters influences where the released lever sits. The uncoupled brakes are not so effectively compensated. A colleague claims to have rolled an early car when one front brake grabbed on abrubt turning! A very generous amount of free travel is advsable.
