CF1 cut out and fuse cover anodising - Ncoates - 07-09-2020
Does anyone happen to know a specialist that will re-do the original anodising on the Lucas fuse and cut out covers.

Were they not nickel plated? Any plating company should be happy to do this. Nickel plating can even be done at home using readily avilable kits.

Unrestored ones that I have seen have always been chemically blackened. Other finishes that you might see, such as polished brass, nickel plate or black painted are most likely the result of enthusiastic restoration.
For an easy blackening at home, try using "Gun Blue", obtainable from any gun shop, or Jenkins Black Antiquing Fluid BS2, obtainable online from Rest Express. Gun Blue, as the name suggests, ends up a as very dark blue/grey.

Thanks for the suggestion a that’s really helpful - I will give that a try. Unfortunately the original finish was rather pitted and graunched. I am sure you’re right, that it was chemical blacking as opposed to electrical anodising.
